Well, I am one of the more senior members of the group, as in older than most.

So I’ve been into bikes for a long time. Started in 1971, test passed in 72 and had quite a few bikes since.

Went to see the iconic bike film in 1969, yes you guessed, Easy Rider and made the decision that one day I will own a Harley.

Many years went by. Then, in 2007 I could actually afford one. I got myself a Dyna Superglide, then a Wide Glide. Then in 2012 one of my good rider buddy’s got a 2007 Night Rod Special. He always said, do not ride this bike cos if you do you will want one.

As luck would have it, we were riding back from the lakes and we swapped bikes; he was right !

Got myself a 2010 Muscle, great bike, smooth, fast and the brakes actually stop you without any trauma. Had it for 2 years, and traded it in for a brand new Night Rod Special in 2014. The riding position of the NRS fit me better than the dragster style of the Muscle. It made things easier to travel across Europe and the UK.

I do all my own maintenance from routine service and oil change to mechanical repairs, even having the software to tune the bike as well as riding it as much as I can. It’s all part of the hobby for me.

Now that we have a UK-VRodders group, the trips away can only get better.
